A new nomenclature system is almost ready for medical devices to support the EUDAMED system under the Medical Device Regulation (745/2017) and the In Vitro Diagnostic Device Regulation (746/2017).
European Commission, Medical Device Coordination Group (MDCG) decided to use Italian system CND (Classificazione Nazionale Dispositivi Medici - National Medical Device Classification) as the basis of EUDAMED system.
In the following days, the cross-listing of GMDN (Global Medical Device Nomenclature) codes corresponding to the code CND will be prepared by the MDCG group.
